About Me

Every child has a dream, and mine has always been to be a teacher and change the lives of my students.

My name is Hallie Schmidt.  I am attending college to get a license to be a 4-9 grade English/Language Arts and Integrated Science teacher, as well as toward a licensure for an intervention specialist. I want to be a teacher so I can do something in the world that makes a difference.  If I can be a good example for just one student, then I will feel like I have succeeded.  However, I want to do more than that.  I want to make an impression on my students and encourage them to be good people in society, and give them hope that they are able to achieve anything they put their mind to.

I have a passion for learning and am so curious about everything in my daily life.  I want to inspire and encourage my students to be just as curious and to not be afraid to ask questions.  I love working with people, and take naturally to children of all ages.  I really enjoy teaching people things that I am knowledgeable about and being in front of groups.

Technologically speaking, I am very familiar with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe, Audacity,  both Mac and PC systems, SmartBoard, iPods/iPads, and SmartPhones.

One of my favorite educational websites is Edmodo, because since students are using social media outside of class, this would be a very easy website for them to learn and want to use since it is so similar to Facebook.  I think it is generally a great site for communication and extra help outside the classroom.  My next favorite would have to be Glogster, because it allows students to be creative without the mess, students can no longer say they have lose their project, it allows students of all learning styles to express themselves and learn in their own ways, and has several teaching aides for students to continue learning while making their project. The third  website that I find useful and great is Prezi. Prezi is great because it is able to capture the attention of students better than a PowerPoint, and it offers so many more ways to present information.
Here is my Resume with current course work thus far:
